Talking WANTED...new friends in sutherland shire

ok here goes...

i have always been a big fan this site and frequently log in to see if there is any meet ups in my area. so i've finally found the strength to post myself.

myself, d hubby and our 3 children moved over from ireland last oct. we have just bought our new house in the shire and would love to meet others in our area for a chat, a beer, singsong or a bop or two (all in that order)

i am 37, d hubby is 31...yeah i was a bit of a cougar!!! we have 3 children. as much as we love them it is nice to get away from them for a odd nite out. i know there is a meet up in the city every week but we're a bit far out for that.

we realy miss our friends and family and would love to make new friends here.

or if there is any mums in the area who fancy meeting up during the day with the children in the playground etc it would be great also.

looking forward to hearing from ye all.

Hiya,

Myself, hubby and daughter moved to the shire a few weeks back and we are really keen to meet some new folk - like yourself we adore our little one but the odd night out is essential - haven't had a night out since Christmas!! Really starting to miss our friends back home plus I now realise just how fab the free babysitting from the mother-in-law was!!

We are both 31 and our daughter is a year old - we are from Surrey, England but I myself am a plastic paddy (Irish parents) so I am well used to a good old sing song - would be great to meet up either during the day with the smallies or for a much needed night out.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Vanessa

Now confirmed...

SECOND SUTHERLAND/SOUTH SYDNEY MEET-UP

Calling all in Sutherland, Kirrawee, Gymea, Miranda, Caringbah, Sylvania, Menai, Cronulla, Como, Heathcote, Engadine, Yarrawarrah, Lucas Heights, Loftus, Waterfall, etc etc

NORTHIES CRONULLA HOTEL, Cnr Kingsway & Elouera Rd, 2PM Saturday, 21 March 2009

http://www.northies.com.au/aboutus.html

After our first meet up almost a year to the day, a few recent threads and posting by Britexpats in The Shire, I've decided to set a date and place for the second meet-up.

The Northies Hotel is right on the front corner opposite the main surf area in Cronulla. Its an easy walk from Cronulla railway station and also has large car park. Kids are welcome in the lounge during the day and there's a large area to sit outside if it’s nice. Meals/snacks are served. Taxi's are available from the rank just near the hotel.

Once again, the plan is just to have an informal get together over a beer or three and show that there is life beyond the CBD and northern beaches!

Last year was great and it will be good to see some of those faces again together with people that couldn’t make it last year and the new people that have moved this way in the last twelve months.

We’ll try to wear something obviously British – probably red and white St Helens Rugby League colours. (Just look at my photo on here) and sit somewhere prominent.

We got about twenty adults plus kids last year, which was really good.

I hope that we can have a good afternoon and that we'll all make some new friends in this great part of the world.
