Almost finished watching todays WDU

Haven't reached the mundane family and friends bit but I think for once this was a really positive one :blink:
Can totally relate to Jackie's lets go, lets not cause thats how I was last time.
Can't help but like Ian and for the first time this series i've actually laughed most the way through it - I think he's hysterically funny and comes across as a real cheeky chappy.

I loved the girls when they met that other family - very very sweet with the hugging.

Please tell me they edited lots - either that or Ethan is the most content baby in the world !!!!!

Ughhh just watched the friends and family, did feel a bit bad for the older parents but the friends making her feel bad for going wasn't nice, surely regardless of how much it hurts you you want the best for your friends be it UK or Oz, can't they be friends 8,000 miles away? yes it'd be different but you deal with it?

Hi :) Personally, I just found myself wanting to slap that woman today, but I recognise that's probably only because I'm desperate to move but can't just yet :o

I just felt so sorry for the husband, he was so lovely & surely if you saw someone you allegedly loved, so desperate to give it a shot, you would say okay, this isn't what I want, but I'll try it for a year or so, even if it was just to prove him wrong? Especially since the kids were at an age where they could give it a go for a couple of years with no real harm to their education???

I dunno, it takes all sorts I guess :)

I thought for someone who wasn't really interested at all to begin with she did really well?
I think some of the lifestyle aspects really appealed to her and the possible advantages mainly for the kids were exciting but when you've never been interested in moving abroad part of you will always be torn.
I give her her dues for not being totally negative about everything, she could have quite easily been that way.

What I do find annoying is the people who give it all the yeah yeah we want to move, better life it's the way forward and then they get over there and complain about everything, and amongst the most bizarre and stupid things said 'the houses are so different here they're nothing like UK houses, I don't think thats true in all cases but most people watch tv an don tv homes are different in Africa to the UK, they're different in America so why wouldn't they be different in Australia?

Another bug bear is allowing a young child to rule the decision for the whole family, some children would only choose to eat the same foods every day, if you don't encourage them to try new things you end up with ppl like the bloke in the papers a few years back that still at 35 or whatever he was only ever eats Jam on toast :confused::blink:
If you allow a child to choose they're bedtime they could be up til the early hours, wanting to play outside at midnight. Small children are not the best judge of what is right for them so i'll be happy if they don't put any small children on there having a paddy saying i'm not going and if I don't want to go no one will go....

Despite her HUGE reservations today they seemed very close as a family, the woman Monday was very honest, 'if he doesn't agree to go his life will be very difficult' and the dirty looks throughout the whole thing scared the crap out of me so heaven knows how her husband felt.

Roll on the revisiteds I say I wanna see what people are up to now who went out last time

After today's episode my husband refuses to watch any more. He wanted to punch Jackie when she said that she wanted to move into that house they are staying in straight of the bat. No working you way up to it or starting small.

She appeared to only be saying the right things for her husband and not because she actually wanted to move.

Can't believe they already have their visa's and she's do dead set against it!

Live a little. Be daring and take a chance. You never know what's around the corner.

I liked the family. Yeah the house thing bugged me a bit but I reckon it was a half-hearted cunning plan to derail a move by setting unachievable conditions.

The family and friends heart-strings is what seems to kill the dream most of the time. But to be honest if I had elderly parents and my children were their only grand children I'm not sure if we'd be able to do it.
