Hi all,
we are looking for a reliable 4wd campervan that will be our home for our first year in Oz. Does anyone have any suggestions where we could buy one of these monsters? A dealership, or rental company? Thanks heaps for any advice. We are landing in Sydney by the way, but could travel to Melbourne if neccessary.

Try the trading post, but whatever there asking for a 4WD tell them there dreamin ! then haggggglllleee

I used an old VW 2WD kombi to go all the way round oz about ten years ago and it did a grand job!

There will be the odd place that a 4WD will be needed but not many.
The old kombi had great ground clearance and the 3RD shape one can be found with 4WD .

Loads of tourists use Britz campers i notice in the outback.
