Intention is to kick the ball (on the full) over between the middle goal posts.

If the ball is kicked and catched without it touching the ground it is called a Mark. This allows the catcher to take a free kick without being obstructed.

The ball may be carried but must be bounced every 6 strides or paces (I think thats the number).

I love the game. If you have played it,rugby, league then you can understand how athletic those guys are.

People forget that the ball is kicked in AFL too - and very skillfully too. The girls in soccer don't get close to the athleticism of the 'aerial ballet' blokes. I prefer rugby but have a respect for these blokes.

I love rugby, league and AFL. Any thing where you get to rip to ball off the opposition. Even netball is more agressive than football.

Have to agree!! Football (Association) is a bit fustrating like that. The fact it's supposed to be skillful doesn't really make up for it - nor is a slugfest 'beautiful'. Then you get all the hysterics and tears.

For me its surfing, cricket, rugby, football ...... pretty near the bottom of the list comes kabadi (sp?), chess and then AFL. Sorry, can't stand it!!
