Want a cheap flight? Book direct!!!!
Hi all,
I'm off to Perth in Jan, just wanted to bore you with my little tale! I booked a flight with Travelmood to fly 24th Jan with Malaysian, returning 8th Feb. Fine, got that with small stopover of 2 hours in Kuala Lumpur all for £538.00. Not too bad I thought. Then I get a phone call saying that Malaysian Airlines have told the travel agent I can't travel at that price - now its going to cost £630.00??!! I can still have the original price but leave on 23rd and wait at KL for 8 hours. Bugger that I said and told them to (nicely
) go away. Anyway out of curiosity I visited the Malaysian Airlines website, went through the booking process online, got the exact flights I first booked with the agent and all for £506.00???!!!!!!
Do I smell something fishy going on there or is that normal practise?? Maybe it doesn't work for all airlines - but it seems booking direct can help! Not saying I'm tight but I'd go out of my way to save a few quid, and no I'm not Scottish!!!!!

My husband flies regularly and always books direct as he finds the service so much better. We had a problem with Expedia once when we were trying to change our daughters flight..........they said it was impossible to change, so in the end we contacted Singapore Airlines directly and they sorted Expedia out for us. We have found the customer service at Singapore Airlines absolutely superb.

we tried to book direct with Emirates once and it was twice the price of Expedia and it was the same flight.
