wall and floor tiling work out there??
Hi folks,
We are only in early stages yet, only just applying to have hubbys skills assessed. We were wondering what work is like i oz for wall and floor tilers, is there much demand for them over there??

everything is tiled so loads of work especially if you are good
We have just had a disaster of a tiling experience tiler was crap cost us a fortune still in a mess but we have found another one who is trying to sort the mess out (he has taken photos of the other guys work to show around as he said its the worst job he has ever seen) anyay they all charge between $35 -45 per Square floor and $60-80 wall porcelain i s double is that of ceramic so i am really glad now we didnt go for that !! good luck mary

A large amount of houses have tiles so I imagine there must be a lot of work out there. If your husband has worked as a tiler and has qualifications then he should be able to get work easily. One thing to bear in mind is that he will have to be assessed again in Australia to get his licence. If you do a search through old threads some people have described the process involved as I am not too sure, although I know that some said that it took them approx 9 months to get licensed.

Sorry to hear about the mess the tiler made, how annoying, especially when they charge you a fortune for a sh*t job. Is that $35-$40 per square metre, if not what is the approx size of a square floor? hiow long have u been in oz?
