We have just been told by the Australian High Commission that they are now working to a 12 month time waiting time for skilled migrant visas. We applied in January an will not therefore hear until Jan 2002.

Does anyone know if it is possible to continue the application process for the general skilled migrant category in Australia on a tourist visa since it has always been our intention to travel for a while when we get there.
