Default Wagga wagga or Orange?

Just got two job offers from Wagga and Orange. Still looking for more info about these two places before I make a decision. They seem to have similar population, weather, lifestyle?, and take about the same time to the metro area. If I need to travel pretty often to Sydney, prefer a place with better scenery and energetic lifestyle, which one should I choose? I heard that wagga is the biggest inner city in NSW, but strangely I found much less rental info online for this area than for Orange...

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wagga would be my choice but it's not handy to Sydney.
Wagga is about 25000 larger in population

Energetic? that would be Sydney

Thanks for your kind reply!
I've heard that there's a railway directly connecting wagga and sydney, but not sure how long it takes for the distance. How's weather like in wagga? Is there any water restriction in the area?

Check NSW railways for travel times.

It was in the 40's a week or so ago (same weather pattern that hit Adelaide). Winter can be down to morning frosts.

Water restrictions are in place from memory but not severe ones

Water restrictions exist all over NSW.

http://www.sydneywater.com.au/Water4Life/WaterWise/

The XPT does Sydney and back to Wagga twice a day but many people fly if they do the trip.

Out of 'switched on towns' I'd go for Orange every time.

Neither are switched on!!! what line of work are you in and have you thought about Queensland? less expensive then NSW and better even temps around 30 celsiius - fantastic beaches and train or drive to many different places, mountains/sunshine coast, byron bay, brisbane etc

I was very impressed with Wagga. It seemed quite advanced for a country town - it is a regional centre.

Lot of money out there...I know a family 50k away less than an hour's drive...

Canberra is not too far away.

Wagga is warmer than Orange
Flights connect to Sydney and Melbourne
http://www.rex.com.au/#
Has a Defence facility nearby which creates a lot of employment
Very good Private and Public Hospitals with Specialists
Scenery wise- Orange is closer to the Hunter River Valley and old gold mining towns.
Wagga is at the edge of the western plains but up round Temora or Cootamundra their are lots of little towns with quaint pubs

Been to both & definetely side with Orange. Whilst checking in at Sydney a few years back before flying to Wagga, the security guy looked at our boarding pass after hearing our accent(scots) & kindly whispered in my ear "what the **** are you going there for mate?".
Nuff said

I'd choose Orange, but then I like it. It's got big city thoughts with country town appeal.
