Wages
Hi everyone,
New to the forum and possibly joining you all downunder.
The reason I am posting is that I have been offered a new position at and it means moving to Australia
Depending on location I could be earning 80K-95K a year before tax I need to know if this a good salary, I work in the engineering field.
Looking forward to your views

Re: Wages
I am not an engineer but from what I have seen on here that sounds low. I expect years of experience and seniority comes into it though and doubt anyone can really comment without knowing that.

It really depends on the location, whether you have dependents and visa type. Tell us more?

Re: Wages
Except as TurboE says, it depends on why type of engineer and where you are located.
Also it is worth noting that as in the IT industry in engineering many people take a hell of a pay cut to get that PR/Sponsorship, then afterwards move on up the salary chain.
