WA gas project - Gorgon

Does anyone on here know of any companies or agencies that are recruiting staff for the WA gas project (Gorgon Liquefied Natural Gas project).

If they do could they send me the names.

If you are not in Oz I would forget it unless you are in some stunningly important area that is extremely short of highly qualified staff - plenty of people here trying to get in.

I suggest applying directly to the companies involve in Gorgon, rather than through agencies.

How do you like your dog? Curried or stewed?

As has been mentioned, if your not in Australia or have some hugely scarce skills then don't expect any positives from emailling CV's to agencies and construction companies involved. There's literally 1000's of qualified people in Australia at the moment who have the necessary experience and skills to do the vast majority of the jobs required. Contrary to what may be on DIAC skilled migration list, welders, pipefitters, electricians and many engineers etc are not in short supply in Australia at the moment. Of course that may change if/when this and other LNG projects in Darwin and Gladstone start in the next 2-3 years. Which is when companies will start bringing in predominantly Filopino and Indonesian workers on 457 visa's to make up the numbers. Which is a good thing as most of them have a much better work ethic than their Oz/UK/Euro counterparts.
