WA Caversham any reviews please
Hi everyone,
We are a small family two kids both boys, 9years old and 20 months old, we initially were decided on moving to Ellenbrook but having doubts as this may be a bit far out off Perth for commuting to work. My trade is an Electrician so I could be really anywhere but we think being closer to the city could be better work travel times for my wife if she works within Admin.
House prices attracted us to ellenbrook as well as it being a quite new town with good prospects in the future construction, with all this you are close to the country side and outback more than being enclosed within the city.
We are from Northern Ireland small town surrounded countryside with Belfast city 25 miles away. So Ellenbrook seems good.
Real question is I have been looking up Caversham that it is also on the edge of the city, countryside around and loads of new housing developments and future schools etc.. planned. And close Perth city. But I can’t find in search anything really else there no Wikipedia for in-depth information about Caversham.
Can anyone give me any information on schooling, for young kids, upbringing of kids in that area, things to do for family; just really anything anyone could provide us with.
Thanks

I used to live a short distance from Caversham. Don't know much about services, but it always seemed a nice place to me. You can get a pretty good impression from a real estate search; click here for details.

Have you considered Kalamunda & Lesmurdie suburbs, some great schools here and not too bad a commute to the city

I live not too far from Caversham and am aware of a plan for development of the area with the construction of a mosque and from what I understand a large housing development and other community facilities.
I get minutes of the local council meetings from their website and there is some information on there on the proposed development scheme:

I hope it is of some interest

What's attracting us to possibily living in caversham is we will be right on the edge of the city with countryside with us, alot of new housing developments going up with some really nice and well priced properties.
A mosque wouldn't really bother me as long as it wasn't on my back door, I don't believe in religilion but don't have a problem with it as long as its not preached in front off me, caversham is quite big, is a proposed mosque being built because of the area?
Looks like abit more researching we have only three weeks once we land to hopefully find a rental property were we will be looking to settle, as we will be in temporary accommodation and have it only for that time.
I didn't see this all easy always expect the worst and at least if it isnt it's a bonus.

I personally would prefer Kalamunda knowing what Northern Ireland is like with countryside and country parks etc for walking/cycling etc. I am not sure that there are many (if any) new developments in Kalamunda and I would suspect it is more expensive.
There are plenty of newly built rental properties available in Ellenbrook which is not too far away and a good base if you want to be in this area.
Caversham is a decent run into the city and you have plenty of options with routes depending on the time of the day to avoid traffic.
Good luck!
