Volunteer work
Looking for volunteer work on east coast - travelling to Australia for 3 months and would like to take some time out to volunteer - does anyone have any links or information to organisations that I could apply to?
I have registered with the Redcross but would welcome any other info.

Here's a couple of good links for you:
http://www.govolunteer.com.au/
http://www.volunteeringqueensland.or...volunteers.asp
If you do a Google search for "volunteer work Queensland or NSW", you'll find loads of other links too.
Good luck ... and good onya!

have a look at www.infoxchange.com.au
volunteering is a great way into work as well and you can get a reference from them as well .
I started off volunteering in Oz and that lead to the start of a career in youth work .

I would point out that generally one needs an appropriate visa for a volunteer work program. Any reputable organisation should have arrangements in effect to obtain this.

When I looked into my WHV a couple of years ago, I looked at this. I know STA travel had a whole heap of things that might help - either pop into a shop, or I think you can even request stuff from their website

Well if you like outdoor work try Conservation Volunteer for this you don't need a visa except a holiday one.
