Default VoIP in australia - local numbers?

Hello gurus,

do you know if there are any VoIP companies offering aussie local numbers in other countries? For instance, I can get a Canadian local number living in US (Vonage) and if anybody tries to reach me by my canadian number it will be re-rerouted to by Vonage box in US. Anything like that offered with australian phone #s?

In general, what's the VoIP market in Australia?

I cant remember the exact details, but I think Bondipom started a thread about this about a month ago with info on it. If you do a search something should come up

I'm no expert on this but there was a bit about voip on the tv last night here. They were talking about how this may take off for residential users over the next 3 years or so.

Hubby works in telecommunications here and business systems are well up on it now. The trouble is he works such long hours he has no time to post on here!!!

Other than that I have no other knowledge!
