Go if you can...
 

I would say go and visit if you can, just to get a feel, it gives you an insight and if you travel about, you will fall in love with somewhere instantly, like we did, and want to move!

We have been several times now and know its where we want to be, I am all for people going prior to migrating, its alot to cope otherwise. Having travelled all over the world, we have decided that Oz is for us but would not be everyone's choice.

We have recently returned from travelling around the country with our two year old son and having met in Sydney five years ago, we are now looking to settle in Perth.

Before I came out here I'd traveled extensively in Europe, Africa and the States, and even though these were holidays I knew I would not want to live in any of these places.

I then had a holiday in NZ and Australia, never expecting to come back again. Back in the UK I saw an advert for would be emigrants to NZ, and I started to think why not.

I agree with the other posters here that having a holiday is not the same as living their, but at least you will know what you are letting yourself infor, and if you do dislike it you will save youself a fortune, and it will give you the chance to make a more balanced judgement.
