Hi every one i hope you can help?
We have just decided to make the move to oz with our three kids
jess 9 lauren 5 suranne 8months. already we are confused by all the information you get via the net, we will have to go under a skilled visa but that is as far as we have got... i did say only just started!!! Would it be easyer to have a company arrange everything for us and do you know roughly how much the whole visa process will cost.
we would be ever so gratful of your replies zoe

Don't know what's going on the past few weeks, not having a go at you, but perleeease put immigration stuff on the immigration forum. Your query will not get lost amongst all the pish that gets thrown about here and all the experts hang out there.
Good luck with your journey

Zoe, welcome to the forum try this website http://www.dimia.gov.au/
You'll have to download a booklet - I think it's booklet 6 for skilled, and that'll have a load of information in it for you.
Moneypen is right though, you'll get more specific help in Oz/NZ immigration forum as the Agents tend to scour it.
Having an Agent depends on your finances and circumstances. I'd get an agent if I had the spare cash but to be honest our skills assessment shouldn't be too complicated so we're doing it ourselves :scared:
Good luck Zoe, this is the start of a long and stressful journey

Booklet 6 will guide you through what you need to do for a General Skilled Visa are you thinking of doing the application yourself or using an agent? be very careful when choosing an agent, we learnt the hard way ...there are alot of links on here that list "recommended" agents. Just type in the "Search" top right corner.
Good luck

Hi Zoe and welcome to the forum.
We are applying for a skilled sponsored visa and roughly to date we have spent approx £2500 for the TRA (that's the skills assessment) and visa application.
Next month we will have to pay out £885 for our medicals and X-Rays and £50 to get the police checks done. (There are 5 of us BTW).
We're also going to send the bond out to our sponsor which is about AUD$5-6K. (This is refundable after about 2 years or so).
Add the cost of flights on top of this (which will be around £2300) and it all adds up to quite a bit
Hopefully Oz will be worth it though
Good Luck with your application.
