Visa validation and the ticking clock ?
Questions regarding the formalities like driving licence (or other licences) which you can use for 3 months after arrival before you need to get a local one.
And avoiding loading on your private medical insurance where you have to start within 12 months of becoming eligible for Medicare.
Does the 3 or 12 months start from the date you validate visa or from the day you arrive to stay for good let's say one year later?

I think it might be validating for the private health care. Do a search on the forum and you'll probably find something. I seem to recall some people being surprised by that rule, so that's why I think it's from validation.
For the licence I would imagine it's from when you actually move here, but I can't be 100% sure.
