Visa Validation How Do We Do It?

Hiya,
Our visa's run out on 12th May 07, not sold our house yet so it is looking like we will have to go over and validate . Got family on the sunshine coast so hopefuly they will put us up.
My question is to validate our vias's is it just a matter of getting it stamped at the airport and is that it ?
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks ,

Lee and family and all the best for the New Year:beer:

Enter Australia as normal. Nothing special, just tick the box on the landing card marked migrating to Australia. You'll be lucky to even get a welcome to Australia from the passport dude lol.

That's it. Get off the plane, go to customs, get your passport stamped and you are now validated. You can turn around and go back on the next flight out if you wish, nothing else to do.

Re: Visa Validation How Do We Do It?

Sorry just logged on and seen this question that was also in my mind....
I'm in the process of booking a validation holiday, so just to reassure me, am I right in thinking I just validate my 136 visa by getting it stamped at the airport on entry to OZ? This stamp being within 12 months of my medical being requested by DIMIA? (Medical due next week, but forms sent via email from in Nov)
I had visions of having to go to an 'Australia House' in Perth or Adelaide, something like I did here for NZ visa previously.

So close to the end, don't want to get it wrong at this stage:)

Thanks

Re: Visa Validation How Do We Do It?

The date you need to validate by is on the visa label. It says "first entry by dd mon yy" [right hand side of label under the visa class bit]
It will also say "Must not arrive after dd mon yy" on the lower line, this is 5 years after the grant date normally.
This information is from a 120 visa, but it's the same for 136 I think - read the label and check :)
