Visa times for nurses
We have recently applied for a skilled indepenant visa using my wife as the main applicant. She is a nurse. We have heard that nurses get "fast tracked" through the application processs. Anyone know how long it takes for a nurse to get a visa?

About 4-6 months generally it seems, but some have been waiting slightly longer than this (talk to Yvsie)..

Hi
My wife is a nurse and we applied under Australian skilled sponsored. We applied in March 2001 and got our visas about 2 weeks ago. Slightly special case because we had a baby in July and that held up things like medicals etc. Mash is right, they're quoting 4-6months but 6-9 months is probably a more realistic estimate, even though nurses are being fast-tracked. Good luck!

Hi folks,
All in all ours probably took about 9 months but we applied in October 2001 when you were able to send off to London.
Where are you thinking of heading? We're looking at the East Coast, probably Brisbane area. We swither sometimes towards Adelaide but haven't quite made our minds up yet!
Good luck with things
