Visa stamping
Hi all,
Visas granted by Adelaide a couple of weeks ago (hooray!) but minor problem. Adelaide want a reply paid envelope to stamp and return our passports - I've no idea how much this is going to cost so I asked our agency to get a letter of authority sent back and I'll get them stamped up at Oz house in the Aldwich. Anyone have any ideas of: A) Costs to get passports mailed back from Adelaide (and I'm thinking of you others here that ARE going to get through the process. Hang in there kids, everything comes to those that wait...) B) The process of getting the passports stamped at Oz house - will I need to make an appointment or can I just turn up? I've not been to their website yet so that's the next port of call but the personal experience of others is always so much better as this forum has proved time and again. Thanks all once more, MAX |
Re: Visa stamping
B) Go along to Oz House, take a ticket and join the queue. It took me about 2hours to get ours done but then I was chilling out in Costa's whilst everyone else was queuing in the rain...
Mouse P.S They only open in the mornings - check the website for exact times |
Re: Visa stamping
BTW, you only need the grant letter (and your passports) - the rest is on their computers

Re: Visa stamping
Just turn up at Oz House with your acceptance letter and your passports. They queue
up outside for the first hour or so after opening but this is just to get a number to be seen. Once you have a number you wait inside for a while longer and are then called to the appropriate window for visa labels to be printed off and stuck in your passports. Have fun! Dean, Karen and Jayden. PS: It's the door about 50 yards down on the left hand side of Oz house that you want (just follow the queue) PP I don't know how many there are of you getting visa's, but only one of you needs to go (unless you all fancy a day out.) Re: Visa stamping
I had a different experience...............
I turned up at AHC in London and was told I had to leave my passport and Visa Grant Letter as it would take them upto 5 days to attach the visa. Apparently the computer file needs transferring from Adelaide to London !? (I also needed to leave them a stamped address envelope) Sure enough my passort arrived back with me 5 days later. In fairness my grant letter did tell me all this, I just thought I'd turn up on the off chance. |
Re: Visa stamping
5 days to transfer a file ?
they need a faster modem |
Hi All
We actually thought they would STAMP our passports , so i was a little shocked when we opened to find a "STICKER " stuck in it , but hey we not complaining , it still looks beautiful be it a rubber stamp or a sticker !!!!!!!!!! But i thought they might seal the sticker , it could peel off!!!! Joanne |
We eventually decided to send the passports to AHC London. We sent them special delivery (£4.00) with a self addressed special delivery envelope for returning them. Posted them on a Friday and they were back on the following Tuesday morning. (we waited the 5 days ater hearing from Adelaide). Saves the cost of travel and standing in a queue!

Visa stamping
Many thanks all.
All things considered I think I'd like to attend in person as it will certainly be an event!! We could make a day of it, ending up celebrating in Covent Garden or similar. Yet again the forum produces the results....... Thanks again, MAX |
