Visa Refusal ???
Hello everybody...I'm a Newbie
What a fantastic forum, I've learnt so much over the last couple of weeks reading all the posts.
We have today posted our Visa application off to the agents, so fingers crossed it should be lodged over the next few days.
Can anybody tell me if DIMIA has taken credit card payments for a visa and then not allowed it ? I am assuming that the payment would only be taken if you were accepted ?
Any comments on that...
Thanks

And they will usually charge your CC even though they may request further information straight away etc. At least in my experience.
good luck!

Re: Visa Refusal ???
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to disillusion you but DIMIA take the credit card payment for the visa application before doing any assessment of your eligibility.
You pay for the application regardless of whether you are granted a visa.
Hopefully it will be a favourable decision if you've done all your background research and prepared your application correctly.
Good luck!

Re: Visa Refusal ???
Welcome to this nightmare. Your agent is the only one that can re-assure you on your chances. What visa type are you applying under. Passing is also dependant on medicals and police checks.

Re: Visa Refusal ???
Hello again
Many thanks for your replies, I am perfectly in the picture now.
We were applying for State Nominated Trade in South Australia but things have changed and we are now applying for the Skilled Visa and hope to move to Perth.
The TRA requirements were quite a task to take on, backtracking over the years. My husband had never put together a CV before, he had never needed one. Collating references etc from the past was not a pleasant experience. Having to be polite to people that you hadn't seen for years and didn't want to see again in some cases...anyway done that!
So I am now hoping that the DIMIA experience will be easier!
Thanks again
