Default Visa granted?! When...

Hey expats!

I've got an easy question for those who have already granted their visa...

How much time do you have to enter Oz once your visa has been granted?
Is there a minimum time you should spend before travelling overseas again?

Thanks in advance!

normally you would get 12 months from the date of your meds/police checks.

Hi,

I havent been granted my visa as yet, but entry date usually has to be withing a year of having your medicals/police checks, unless you have a health undertaking, then it is 6 months

Hi,
normally its 12 months from first date of Medical or Police Check (whichever is the oldest)

eg, our visa was granted 6th feb and the entry date is "on or before 17 Nov"

However that is just an initial entry date. It doesnt mean you have to migrate by that date.

You could if you wanted to, just make a quick trip down there, get the entry stamp in your passport (and anybody else included in the visa application has to go too), and fly straight back out on the next flight a few hours later, then move down permanently at your own convenience in the next few years. Although it would be a bit of a shame not to spend a few weeks there if you've flown all that distance !
