Visa granted....again!

Visa granted....again!
Yesterday I received an email....
"Your 820 Visa has been granted" (For those who don't know the codes, that's a temporary spouse's visa)
My question is....
Does my 2 year temp visa begin NOW that it's been officially granted?
OR
Does the 2 years begin with my application? (Nov 9, 2004)
They took 4 and 1/2 months to process the spouse visa (I was given a bridging visa in the meantime) and I'm hoping that the count started with the application and not with the grant.
Just curious if anyone has experience or insight on this. Possibly people who've reached PR status on spouses visas?

LOL!! I've turned into you, Simone!
It's just been a really quiet day here today. Everyone is at the home show.
I usually do pop in at lunchtime though

Re: Visa granted....again!
Ah yes, it's lunchtime, here too
I was very busy this morning, but now quiet, and noone ever has much extra work for me either... so it's their own fault!
Oh well, I am only getting $14 an hour, so it's a good thing this job isn't stressfull!!

Re: Visa granted....again!
Congratulations!
Don't know the answer to your question unfortunately.
I have a quick question though: I'm on a spouse visa 309, so what's the difference between that and a 820? Is it cos I'm married? I'm in the first stage of mine too!
Thanks,
Stacey

Re: Visa granted....again!
Quite possibly it is because you are already married. My understanding is that subclasses 300 - 309 are reserved for Fiance, spouse, defacto etc...
I think 802 is a permanent visa... trying to make my way through the DIMIA website now...

Re: Visa granted....again!
Thanks Pollyana!
Somehow I knew that you'd know!
This past year had virtually flown by. Hard to believe that I've been here a year tomorrow! And so much has happened in that time!
I'm sure the next year and a half will go by just as quickly... Brian still insists I have to extra nice to him until then..LOL
Hey! I'm buying the guy a new T.V. tomorrow, bigger and better for all those sports I make him watch in the bedroom
