Hi all,

Anyone heard anything about the visa backlog at the London office? I would have thought that now we are nearly at the end of July the processing time might come down by a couple of months.
Any thoughts on this. Anyone apply at the start of 2001 whose has heard anything ( other than IT )? We're past the six month stage and still no news.

Chris.

Hi Chris,

I just received my case file number after filing a spouse visa, which stated that the
average processing time is now 6 months, and not the 4 months advertised on the
London DIMA website and in the migration pack.

Guess its time to open the Esky, and crack open a cold one! (practicing just in
case!)

Hi all........

This refers to applications lodged in the UK.

As some of you might know, my mate Mark (also Chris Love's mate) got his visa two and
a half years ago, and he still holds the record on the NG for the fastest processing
time from applying to DIMA and getting his PR visa. 16 DAYS!!! He did this before you
had to get a skills assessment before applying.

The skills assessment was "allegedly" supposed to speed things up, so that DIMA would
have to do less legwork checking thing up etc.

Apart from the fact that the Manchester office has now closed, it seems bizarre that
this restructuring has somehow resulted in skilled applications averaging 12 months
as opposed to less than a month when Mark applied.

I have got my skills assessment, and my DIMA application has now been lodged. I'm now
settling in for the looooooooong wait...........

Let's hope that the new system being implemented in October, when all
worldwide skilled applications will now be processed in Adelaide SA, it will
speed things up a bit.

Cheers...... Johnno.........

Default Trev's Spouse Visa.

Hi Trev,

So the processing time for your application has gone up too, do you know when that happened? Was it the same time that the skilled independant went from 9 to 12 months?

Hope it all goes well for you, where in Aus will you settle?

What sort of work do you do? Are you Australian by birth?

Just being nosey !!

Chris.

Default Johns Skilled Visa.

Hi John,

What skill have you applied under? If its not IT then it will seem like a long wait, as I said we're six months into the process and sometimes its seems like we've been waiting ages. The medicals are the next hurdle for us, hopefully they'll call for them in the next month or two.

When we started this in Jan we thought we might be able to make it over there before the end of the year, but its fairly certain to be next year now, still, never mind it'll be worth it in the long run.

Hi Steve,

18 months seems a bit excessive, what class visa did you apply for and where abouts are you?

Hi Chris
We are from Warrington cheshire UK and we have applied under skilled migration. The delay has been due to my wife getting pregnant so she couldnt have an x-ray for the medicals. We had our medicals 7 and a half weeks ago.Still waiting to hear and pulling our hair out.
