I applied through a Migration Agent and due to my age and my wifes aunt being a Pensioner and we did not want to use her as aSponser the option left to me was to invest $100,000 aus for the extra 5 points . According to my Agent this gets invested in the local Goverment ( State Your are moving to ) and is recieved back with interest in one year. Hope this answers your question.
