Default Virgin Australia & Singapore Airlines hook up

On phone so can't link to news story, but this will take effect from August. They also reviewed Velocity statues yesterday and I have been bumped up to gold. Exciting times.

EDIT: link... http://www.google.com.au/search?q=vi...apore+airlines

In other news for all the Singapore A380 lovers - they have announced their new A380s will have an all business class upper deck. So that probably means on the London flights no more quiet mini economy cabin upstairs.

Business class must be selling well for SQ.

Do these "quiet mini-economy" seats exist on other airline A380s?

I'm flying on the Qantas A380s next month.

May I ask about the quiet mini economy seats? We have flights booked from London to Brisbane with Singapore Airlines and like the sound of these seats! Tell me more please!!!

On their current A380 (LHR-SIN) there is a small economy section upstairs. Seats in a 2-4-2 arrangement. Some people get excited about it. I would say if the flight wasn't full you'd probably find this section would be packed and the rear economy section downstairs (3-4-3) would have loads of room to stretch out.

I am Gold Velocity. Not sure if their new status credit structure will make it easier to get and/or maintain gold.

Still waiting for V Australia/Etihad points to be credited from April...despite raising a 'missing points claim'

I got bumped up to Gold in the review. Have a look at your account. It should be easier to maintain Gold. You might make platinum when it comes out.

FYI, my Etihad flights in Jan posted within two weeks. I think I called and added my number before I flew or added it at priority check in.

I have no idea how they calculated my new number, it makes no sense to me at all. Barely set foot on DJ in the last 12 months so doesn't make much difference to me anyway.

I think they may have just divided by 100. But the new system only takes into account the last 12 months and it's a daily review so maybe your status points would expire quicker.

I had zero status points before, I got reset in November (-24000). Now I have 29! Silver until Jan 2012 but will be dropping I suspect.

Anything you earned between June 2010 and November 2010 would be credited back to you then. I'm guessing around 2900 points.
