we had a plumber round the other day, i asked how business was and he said it was frantic, i can believe it given how many times i rung before i got an answer.

I reckon work would be good (alot better than denmark, because its much smaller place there) and i suspect alot trades cover denmark but operate out of albany, but Perth would pay more, but perhaps more competition?

I think your work choices would be either working for local building company, or going self employed. it seems alot of work can be found via the letting agencies (landlords tend to hand the whole responsibility of property maintenance to real estate property managers, who in turn have deals with local tradespersons.

i dont rate your chances of lining up work before you get to Oz (seems that happens very rarely), but would well be worth making contact with real estate agencies, existing plumbers, plumbing supplies (e.g notts plumbing), and local builders to find out more.

All I can say Mog is if you really like the look of it give it a go, you dont have to commit just take a short term rental. if its not for you move on. Sounds like there is plenty of work from what Dandd says.

Dont let people put you off because your straying away from the norm. We are off to Tasmania so you can imagine the ammount of nasty and negative posts we've received, many from people who have never even set foot in the place.

A lot of people on here think if your not going to a place that serves up blazing heat 24/7 then theres something wrong with you.

Ditto. Good to hear from people actually living in a place. Still wouldn't live there but that's more to do with family than what I saw donkey's years ago :D
