Default Vietnam Holiday Visa

Does anyone know if there would be any problems for british passport holders in Australia, looking to get holiday visas for other overseas countries?

I'd figured we can send our passports off to the Vietnam embassy in Sydney / Canberra just like Australians would. One travel agent thought it may be a problem.

However, this was the same agent who tried to charge us an extra $1,000 for the same trip we've just organised ourselves online!

I dont know if you need a holiday visa for Vietnam but Ive got about 5-6 visa's in my british passport (china (lots) , thailand , india ) some have local consulates in brisbane (like Thai) for china I have to courier to canberra... Just look to see if there is a consulate in brisbane, if not then you'll have to send it. My company paid for my courier they were special travel people (aka expensive) but you sould be able to use any old courier if you need one.

You should go to the thai visa for a laugh, they dont take eftpos/visa - so to pay for the visa their recommendation is to go to the pub next door and get some cash-out, only you have to buy a beer too. Its a run down house in a run down area behind mater hospital, I think I let their cat out....

lol

We do need a holiday visa for Vietnam. For some reason the only European nations that don't need visas for the country are the Finnish, Swedes and Norwegions!?

The consulates are in Canberra and Sydney so I'm going to courier passports down to one of those offices and hope I get them back in time (leaving in three weeks).

you should be alright - see if there is a extra fee you can pay for express service. China visa was 24hr turnaround , they do look at your flight dates too so you should be ok with 3 weeks. I normally have a week notice

Enjoy Vietnam ! Crazy place.
