Sure it's been asked before but do U.K videotapes play on Aus video machines(and Aus tapes on U.K machines)? I know the Aus tele's are Pal B/G, just not sure about this.

Yes and yes, tapes and DVD's will be fine (subject to multiregion support on the DVD player). You can take your collection with you.
The incompatibilities are with the broadcast standards only.
