Default Video players..Uk ones in oz??

Hi..i know the tvs don't work over in os but will a uk video player work with an oz telly ???(The little girl wants one for her b'day!!!)

apparently if you buy an oz vid your tv will work

A video brought in the UK will play tapes here in Australia but will not record.
When ever stuff about tv's comes up on this board i wonder if Uk people know there is no tv licence in Aussie.

If your video has separate HiFi /video output it will playback on an Australian TV. The problem might be in getting sound when you record broadcasts. It depends on the VCR.
