Default Video-pay system for road toll

London or Melbourne you will pay to use the roads its a world wide con , even in a country that some think there is little trafic .
All car users are milk cows that the state will heard and take off the cream.

MELBOURNE'S toll roads will be easier and cheaper for infrequent users after the introduction of a new video-based payment system, the toll administrator says.

CityLink spokeswoman Jasmine Sussex said drivers who use the road three to 12 times a year would benefit most from the video system, which would be an alternative to e-tags and day passes.

She said the Victorian Government had given approval for CityLink owner Transurban to use video cameras to link nominated licence plate numbers to customer bank accounts, starting from July 1.

The video system will cost motorists an initial $5.50.

Toll roads are also in operation in Durham, the new bypass in Birmingham is going to be one too, and in Leeds, towers have been erected for toll camaras for a "trial" period. I bet that the trial period never ends. I'd imagine other UK cities will adopt similar schemes in time.
