Clean air in the land of plenty no so , V8's . V6's and oversized engines are not good for lungs , what ground breaking news the Aussies are well clued up it just takes 20 years odd for them to have a clue.
PEOPLE living in Melbourne's sprawling eastern suburbs are breathing Victoria's dirtiest air.
The leafy east has the most days of poor air quality – even more than black spots in the industrial western suburbs and the coal-burning Latrobe Valley.
Cars, diesel truck emissions, industry and wood heaters have been blamed by the Environment Protection Authority for the eastern suburbs pollution problem.
Testing at six air-monitoring stations from Alphington to Dandenong revealed the eastern suburbs had 25.5 days of heavy air pollution last year

So what? It's only the rich who are breathing it. You should be more worried about smog in BRisbane or Sydney where the poor have the worst air.
