does anyone happen to know average house prices in victoria?
or anyone living there able to supply info on purchasing

We're not in Melbourne yet, but you should have a look at realestate.com.au to get an idea of the house prices in Melbourne.

The average price would be irrelevant mate. Where are you looking? You can purchase a property from anything ie $3000 to $30 million so depends what end of the spectrum and in which spectrum area you are seeking.

What info are you after?
