vetassess (again)
From VETASSESS webpage
'Generally speaking, occupations which would attract 50 points require a degree level qualification; occupations which attract 40 points require a Diploma level qualification. No amount of relevant experience can compensate for the lack of an appropriate qualification.'
hmmm....methinks I might have a problem.
Anybody any idea if membership of professional bodies such as Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental Management (both NEBOSH) will substitute for a degree???
Anyone know anyone else who got in without a degree (especially in HSE field)???

Re: vetassess (again)
The answer is 'possibly' - but you would likely have to get some professional assistance with such an application. Vetassess might end up having to consult NOOSR, and the outcome may depend on what exactly you did to acquire these memberships.
If your work experience is as a pilot you will have other problems at DIMIA application stage, as pilot is a restricted occupation in Australia (and may be removed from the Skilled Occupations List soon).

I have a general certificate in both the OHS and Environmental management and have been an associate member and have work experience of both for approx 3 years. Hopefully this counts for something.
I was originally applying as Occupational health & safety officer (my current title) which is 50 points, however seeing tho i didnt have enough points for skill migration, it wouldnt hurt to change my application to safety inspector and wait on the list.
The pilot thing is just a hobby of mine that might come in handy sometime in the future, I wasn't intending to use that as a skill.
If anyone else has anymore information/experiences I would love to hear from you
Thanks
