Default Very start of our journey!

Hello! Me and my family are at the very beginning of our journey! I wanted to get some advice.
My husband is training to be a nursery practitioner. This was on the list of employment in demand and on the list we looked at eligible for a visa!
How would he go about finding sponsored employment? This is the hurdle I’m not sure how to get over... is there anywhere in particular to look for this employment with sponsorship attached. Advice very welcome.

You do realise that sponsorships are generally temporary and you may get 2 years or 4 years in Australia then have to go home. If he can get a permanent visa on his skills (what do you mean by nursery practitioner? Nurse? Teacher?) then that would be the way to go, then you lurch over, most likely without a job to go to and hope that you pick something up. Sponsorship can be difficult for employers as they have to demonstrate that they cant get an Australian to fill the role and that is time consuming.

Best solution is to talk about your options with a registered agent but remember the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true it probably isnt the pathway you want to take. Be careful of sponsorships especially if you have kids - nasty little traps like having to pay for their education if you are on a temporary visa in some states for starters and the assumption that you will be returning home once your adventure is over. Just being on the skills list doesnt mean there are loads of jobs btw.

Just start applying for jobs on sites such as Seek. You will find that almost all include a question "Do you need sponsorship?" and click yes. Of course, 99% will automatically reject you for this, but you never know

Ok, great! Thanks for the advice. We know it won’t be easy and are willing to take our chance but agree that speaking to an agent is our best option. Do you have any recommendations for any agents we could approach? That would be much appreciated.

Thanks! Have looked on Seek but not applied as of yet as we’re still quite far down the road... great advice here though so thank you!
