Very important parcel to UK!
Can anyone help, sister has asked me to buy the after dinner mints for her wedding reception next month. She wanted heart shaped chocs, approx 200. = 2kg. When they delivered them from NSW they were shipped with cool packs. They have to kept under 18 degrees. How on earth do I now ship these to my sister?????
Have looked at special delivery DHL - they want $173!!!! Wedding is at the end of August so have time, but realistically would have to go air freight. Any ideas anyone??? Any cheap ideas??? (have considered just flying back to UK with chocs myself if it gets anymore expensive) |

Sentimental I'm afraid! These chocs are beautiful, handmade and only available in Aus! I sent her some for her birthday, on that same day her now to be hubby proposed. She said she'd really like the same chocs. Have brought the chocs ($120!!!!) just now have to get them to her. Quotes so far are coming up more than the value of the chocs!

Re: Very important parcel to UK!
Contact the firm who sent them to you to ask the best way to get them to the UK.
Find someone on here who is doing a recce or who is going back for a visit in the next week or so and ask nicely:D |
2kg of chocs through customs! Personal use Sir? Just spoken to sis, might be a case of splitting the 2kg into 0.5kg parcels then sending them seperately. Temp? Well not much I can do about it if the parcels go over 18 degrees. Hopefully shouldn't be a prob when they reach the other side.
Still thinking of bringing them over myself!
Turn up on the morning of the wedding with said choc's Thats what i would do (if i had money etc) |

if only :( time, money, paid holiday! Ah I'd just LOVE to see my sisters face! She misses us all so much. I get little texts in the middle of the night saying "had lunch today at our usual place" (nice cosy country pub) "really miss you"! Yep if I had that odd $13,000 for flights for 5 of us, I'd be doing that! It was good to catch her this morning, so funny, shes been using the internet at work to email me, guy she works for bit of a tosspot sent her an 'urgent message' - see me 08.30hrs for disciplin hearing re internet useage during work hours! As if its a multi million £ company, she uses it during her lunch hour! |
