This might sound like a really daft question, so here it goes!!
What is the process to validating your visa? Is it just a matter of going through oz customs and getting the visa stamped

Basically yes!
You can validate your visa by either travelling on holiday or making your move permanently. All you have to do is fly into Oz get your passport stamped & if you wanted to you could get on the next plane home. All visa holders must validate. The main applicant must enter 1st followed by family members.

I don't know if anyone else has actually had their visa stamped, we didn't......
we just had a stamp (with date) in the passport.
When we went into medicare whilst over in Melbourne last month it came up that we were permanent residents apparently..

Validating is the easiest part of the whole process, so easy it's unbelievable lol
