Used Car - Where to buy ?

Hi
I am planning to buy a used car preferably Toyota or Holden. Where is the best place and most reliable place ?
I have seen ads on Gumtree but do not want to take a risk. I saw used car on Toyota which seem to be more reliable.
Is Toyota used care a good place for buying a car and do they guarantee their cars or provide free service?
Which car do you suggest ?
Cheers

More information needed!

Where are you?
What will you use the car for?
How much do you want to spend?
How much do you know about cars and what to look for?

Generally, if you want a fairly new model of a particular car, go to a dealer who specialises in that brand: the cars on his secondhand lot are lmore likely to be trade-ins from repeat customers which he has maintained from new. If you are looking for a car in the up to $5000 range then you'd better take along a mate who knows what to look for, as even a registered dealer will only offer the statutory warranty of 3 months or 1 month depending on the age and mileage.

Carsales.com. If they're selling they need to have the Safety Certificate done, and there are some good deals to be done and you can get a car check (finance, damage etc) done easily online. First Born was looking to upgrade, we found an Elantra in very good nick for a good price, the husband went over the engine, brakes etc - all good. They were asking $4,950, she offered $4,500, they accepted. Book price is $7,700. They were fools but they're not alone, plenty more like them out there.

You did well, I hate buying cars.

New is OK, you either like it or not, like price or not. Secondhand car land  Worst memory is going from one car yard to another with 2 little kids in 36c heat. Even found one with obvious windback. One 'with books', had the radio instructions! Ended up agreeing on buying some truck just so I could get the kids out of the bloody sun. Hated that vehicle, it reminded me of that day till we got rid of it:lol:.

Any good? Don't know Norman Park but it doesn't look too far out from the CBD. Looks like the best of the Yaris's available, quick sale, could be a deal done. :D

Hi
My budget is around 7000 or maximum 8K. I am planning to work with my car. I am not technically good so I do not wanna take a risk and I prefer to buy a reliable car

Cheers
