It depends on your circumstances. If you are young and have skills that are on the MODL then with a bit of cop on you can do it yourself. If you are older and borderline on the points then you need all the help you can get and a good agent is worth their weight in gold. I used 1st Contact and their fees were about 2K sterling and they were fantastic. See also Alan Collett who posts regularly on this forum.

Either way you need to do a bit more research first. No matter what you're circumstances - it is stressful and can be costly.
