Hello folks,
I am in USA on H1. I have applied for my Australian PR under Independent Skilled Migration category at Embassy of Australia in USA. I have all the documents submitted correctly and expecting that I should recieve the call to get Medicals anytime now.

My love is in India. Assuming that I will get my PR in the next 2 months, what should I do regarding my love. i.e. I intend to take my love along with me to Australia (you know how hard emotionally/physically it is without being together). We are actually ready to get married, but not taken a decision because we are not clear on what we should do?
Before I get my Australian PR stamped, If I get married and bring my spouse to USA on H4, in what ways will this affect my getting Australian PR? What is the best way to approach this issue? We want to be together and I cant figure out what to do.

Someone please generously provide your valuable suggestions/experiences for the good of families to be united. I appreciate all your suggestions in advance.

Thanks so much again.

If you marry before your first arrival in Australia , you may have to resubmit the
application (change of circumstances). It may be wiser if you landed in Australia
first and then went off to India to marry her.

Seek legal advice anyway.

2 specific questions - PR

Thanks Aryan,
Two scenarios:
1) What is the maxiumum period of time I can prolong to land up in Australia as a permanent resident once I have been issued the Australian PR visa here in USA.

2) As soon as I get my Australian PR visa and after having landed in Australia, is there any requirement that I should stay in Australia for some minimum amount of time as a permanent resident? Also, say if I come back to USA, what is the maximum amount of time I can be away from Australia (let me know both in intermittent time frames or the total time frame).

Thanks...I appreciate for all your replies in advance..
