Default US Playstation/Wii question

Hi,

I'm sorry this question may have been answered before but I had trouble finding it in old threads...

We have just arrived in Sydney from the US. We have a PS3 and a Wii and I just wanted to check the best way to use them - will we need transformers?

We also have a Nintendo DS. The charger states it is 120v, not 120-240v like some other device chargers, so does that mean I can't charge it through a adaptor? If I bought a new charger from EB games for example would that be alright?

Thanks for your help!

Amy,

You would need a dual voltage adaptor something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Wii-R.../dp/B000SSZLCG

You can use a transformer in case you have one, but this may be cheaper.

PS: We are heading down there in March and getting our US Wii too

Hope this helps,

Don't forget Aus uses the PAL system, USA uses NTSC and the games are not interchangeable

PAL and NTSC are analogue coding systems. With HDMI it's all digital so whether it is PAL or NTSC is irrelevant with high definition and the PS3 uses HDMI.

The question asked about the Wii ??
Games for the PS3 are still "region coded"

What the heck.............. just hack the thing and you don't have to worry about it

If the TV is multiregion, it won't matter if the Wii is PAL or NTSC. You can also buy a A/V component cable for the Wii, if the TV has the input though. Better picture quality and again, no NTSC/PAL issues.

We brought our DS over from Canada and just needed to buy a charger that specifically said 120-240V on it. Charged it with no issues for about two year, still runs great too.

We also charged our Canadian bought laptops and cameras as well, they were all dual voltage and just needed the plug adapters.

We didn't bring a Wii over so can't comment on that.
