Urgent request - flying home. Brisbane to UK

I need to go home for a couple of weeks as soon as I can but last night looking on the internet the prices coming up were about 3k sterling!
I tried all the direct airlines plus Opodo. Can anyone recommend a consolidation agency in Brisbane or a website I can try?
Thank you

Maybe not much help to you but prices get significantly cheaper on Feb 2nd onwards (try Emirates < $2000).

Also try the BA Australia website....you will find plenty of fares $2400 - $2700 over the coming days.

Saw cheapish fares the other day on Singapore air flying to London on or after 17/01 (Saturday).

Just plugged in a few dates and 17/01 to 08/02 shows as $2,127.02 (cheapest).

Know just where you are coming from. I had to fly out just before Christmas and paid $3,300!

If it's a matter of life and death, try not to worry about the money right now as nothing can bring a loved one back once they are gone :(....get there as soon as you can no matter what.

Trust me on this one.....

Thank you all for the advice. I booked Emirates directly but will keep your links for future use.

I use http://www.zuji.com.au but when I have needed a very very short notice flight, ring the airlines direct.
Maybe of help to other posters - Qantas (unofficially) will prioritise people with compassionate reasons for flying whenever they can - sometimes bumping off other passengers. You just need to be completely upfront when you ring them, and be prepared to fax copies of paperwork to confirm the reasons for flight.
