update from agent
have just had a message form our agent which has news for some but not others.
They are doing general skilled applications up till jan 2001 within the next few weeks.
Family sponsored lodged up till april 2001 should now have all been assessed.
Nurses they are up to march 2001.
I.T - all done!!!
They will be doing their monthly quota till end of program year - around May. If the amount of visas is increased they think there will be an improvement in processing times - if not, processing times will worsen.
Dont know if that helps anyone but isnt all bad news!
Keep smiling.

Hi pott,
thanks for the post, really useful info. I suppose this means there can'.t be too many nurses in the system after all!

Hi Pott,

We applied beginning of Jan so would just be our luck, has to be a cut of point somewhere I suppose

Susan,
They just said up till Jan so I suppose it could be translated as end of dec 2000. Who knows though maybe they will get carried away with these weeks of over-time and process the lot!!!
Wishful thinking.
Sounds like your turn is next!

The IT bit is not true, I'm afraid. We applied April 2001 (IT fast track) and haven't
had our visa yet. Yes, they have looked at it (we had 3 letters and a phonecall with
request for further info), but because Graham (main applicant) is self-employed it's
hard to prove the work-experience bit and I think we've been moved on the pile on
"difficult" applications. They don't seem to be able to make up their mind about our
application. So, there are still London IT'ers out here waiting for news ... the
worse thing in our case is that the news might be bad news, but either way I'd rather
receive it sooner rather than later.
Good luck to everybody! Martina
