Default Up Menzies Creek without a paddle

I am looking to settle in the Menzies Creek/Emerald area. Does anyone know what the Puffing Billy railway line is like and is it feasible for commuting to the Melbourne CBD?

Cheers

The area is very beautiful...rain forest and high altitude living.Very rural- if you buy there though get a thorough inspection first for damp and structure.
The puffing billy is a tourist train and is a pleasent day out .It is not connected to the train line to the city .
Commute by car will take you approx 1hr and probably the same by train.( from the station )
A lot of people consider it a worthwhile trade off - work in the city and live in the rain forest .
