University of South Australia
I am considering studying at the University of South Australia through distance learning. Can anyone give me some information about this university? E.g. reputation, teaching etc?
Thanks in advance.

Monash is in the Go8 and has some distance learning courses. Outside the Go8, University of New England does a lot of distance learning and has a good reputation.

It's not in the Group of Eight: http://www.go8.edu.au

How is the University of South Australia’s reputation anyway?
Monash is too expensive for me; their fees for international students are three times higher than the regular fees :-(
I didn’t know the University of New England also offers a lot of distance courses, I’ll have a look at their website.
thanks.

JAJ so you’re actually saying that the University of New England has a better reputation than the University of South Australia?

This page from the Good Guides website a few years ago gave UNE three stars for prestige, but only two for UniSA. These ratings may have changed since - for example, CQU has had a lot of very bad publicity regarding its international campuses, but are a reasonable guide.
I would think that a UNE degree is more respectable than many of the other distance learning options, perhaps with the exception of Monash.

There is still a "pecking order" of universities outside the Group of Eight. For example, the University of Tasmania has a good reputation even though it's not Go8.
