Default Uni in Oz or UK

Hi
Does anyone know if you are in Australia on a 136 visa and will have been there for two years whether your child would have to pay overseas fees to attend University in Australia? The reason for my posting is because we hope to be out in Brisbane around august time and my daughter who is currently 16 wants to go to University. She will continue her studies in Australia and is going to a school where she will study for the International Baccalaureate Programme which is a world wide qualification. If she does not like what the Oz universities offer and if she is considered a foreign student does anyone know if she would be allowed to return to the UK to attend university here especially since she will still have her Uk passport? By doing this would she be classified as a foreign student and have to pay exhorbitant fees too?

I hope someone will be able to tell me the answer as it is a dilemma which my daughter who is already reluctant to emigrate wants to find out.

Thanks
JR

She will be considered an overseas student.
There is an excellent thread currently running in the UK forum which will give you more info on the Uk side of it -

Home fees. You can't get fee discount/deferral unless you're an Australian citizen.

If in Australia for two years, then go for citizenship if eligible. Solves a lot of problems.

British passport is not enough for "home fees", sorry. There's a residence requirement for home fees too (like the case in the US and Canada). Also - it wouldn't be smart for her to leave Australia if she has not obtained her Australian citizenship.
