Now working thank God - but feel for people out of work cos it's shite out there unless you're in engineering / mining / construction

Good luck to yous guys who are looking

Murphys Law has struck me as well. Just getting over our special friday meeting news (It probably does contain a silver lining) No more Night Shift for mail sorting at Aus post. Means I have to transfer within the system,. or get a package. So I may become one of the first posties on an Electric Bike, either that or Parcel Area. I knew they wouldn't pay 30pct penalties for much longer. All over by the end of the financial year... June 2012. At least they are obliged to offer me at least 2 jobs within post before a package.

Would be great normally except I'm in the middle of a very expensive reno. Bang straight out of my Comfort zone. I've been moaning about night shift for years so guess I wont have to soon. LOL. Damn goodbye 2nd easiest job I've ever had.... 7 mins up the road and Ipod listening to music all night...all with the backdrop of comedic acts by my workmates every night.

Dont know whether to be worried or glad.

Yes I don't think many people actually out there in the real world believe those numbers for a second.

I thought those figures seemed high. I know in the SW it is (officially) 4 or 5%.

It may be true for some of those regions, but certainly isn't for Scotland.

My OH left Borders a year ago.

They have casual work but finding something more like the role they left is proving impossible. Unless you fancy store manager in the $30k's - the casual job pays better.

But, retail - it's ******!

I'm reminded of one particular troll on another forum who spends his time telling all and sundry how our economy is booming and everyone has a great job and a swimming pool etc. He doesn't actually live here though
Yes retail is in a very bad way indeed.

So, is there a difference between a troll telling everyone how good it is in Aus and not living here and someone else telling us how good it is in the UK but not living there?

Because the latter are not in short supply on here.

Unfortunately Bluescope hasn't recovered from the GFC. Not sure what they got wrong but the company has been limping along for the last 3 years.
