If you look a bit deeper you can see that the ABS is having issues compensating for population growth

IMPACT ON LABOUR FORCE ESTIMATES

For the period July 2006 to June 2010, the civilian population aged 15 years and over has been revised by no more or less than 1.2% in any month, in original terms. The average absolute monthly change in the civilian population benchmark for the months July 2006 to June 2010 was 112,600 persons. The largest revision to the civilian population benchmark was an increase of 210,300 persons in September 2009.

The average absolute monthly change in the male population benchmarks for the months July 2006 to June 2010 was 59,200 males. The largest revision to the male population benchmarks was an increase of 108,000 males in September 2009. The average absolute monthly change in female population benchmarks was 53,500 females, with the largest revision being an increase of 102,200 females in September 2009.
We also seem to have admitted 100 transexuals in September 2009

You don't need to look very far, the figures are on the same worksheet.

Unemployment to population ratio - looking for full time work ; Persons ; 2.5%

Not sure where the issues are that you mention ?

Interesting that when the ABS figures show severe jumps in Unemployment, they are correct, but holes are picked in the figures when they aren't as bad as some may want

Come on man, do the maths:

102,200 female
108,000 Female
210,200 Total

But the government figures add up to 210,300 increase in population

Should read

102,200 Female
108,000 Male
210,200 Total

But the government figures add up to 210,300 increase in population

Maybe its just a slight error, these things do happen

It could of course be 100 of unspecified gender ?

But then, as they are talking about revisions to previous figures: "The largest revision to the civilian population benchmark" maybe it was just down to a rounding revision, or a correction to a previous error.

A 100 difference on a population of 20 million isn't really very relevant, or is it to you ?

PS: It wasn't an INCREASE in population, as you say, but a revision to previous figures.

That's OK, we're still below the annual quota.

Yes. They arrived on a boat from Transylvania. Tony Abbott has issued a statement saying this will not happen under the liberals.
