Re: Unemployment July 2009
Toowoomba, in QLD, for example has an unemployment rate of under 2%.
Illawarra in NSW, is about 10%.
Some places are hiring, some are firing, and it averages out..

According to the chart:
Aus unemployment + 50% since Sept 09, (4% -6%)
US unemployment + 55% since Sept 09, (6% - 9.5%)
Spainish unemployment + 30% since Sept 09, (12% - 18%)
So basically, were doing as well as the US

No, Australian media is more corrupt than UK.
At least in the UK you have investigative journalists who challenged every article written. Here, nothing. They get away with any old drivel, the market isn't cut throat enough. Here in WA we have one newspaper - The West and 66% of their revenue comes from Real Estate advertising so all news is bias towards Real Estate, keeps the clients happy and the $$$ rolling in.
Aussies in general take what they read as gospel, whereas, I'd say the Brits are more sceptical and don't believe everything they read.

Many British also seem to think that the Australians are taken in by what the Australian media publishes
One day, maybe people will realise that just because something is published doesn't mean it is true, or that those who read it believe it to be true
