Oh believe me....ive tried.
Except my phone comes with about 10 unlock codes...and you only have 5 chances till it locks you out too.
I have already had 4 of those and dont really want to risk putting in a 5th
So....any one have any ideas????

I got stuck at the serial number bit. It wasn't on the box, or underneath the battery and I couldn't find it anywhere else

I have a nokia 6230i

Dial *#06# in the phone. This will give you the required serial number.

...so the serial number is the same as the IMEI number is it? because it asked for that already

I'm sure that's what I put in

Try taking a look at www.moneysavingexpert.com. There's a chat forum for mobiles and if you put your IMEI number some helpful chap will tell you what code you need.

When you've put the number into the phone, how do you actually enter it, as it's not doing anything at all?

Your IMEI number is the one on a sticky label under the battery.

do you mean how to put PW in?
To access "p" just press "*" three times within one second. To access "w" press "*" four times within one second.
To access button "+" you have to press twice "*" within less than a second.

I use this site, it tells you all you need to know,

Read the tutorial on that site, you may have to remove the sim at a given point in the process.
