UK wedding

Hi all,

we are due to move to Oz in 2 weeks but are coming home next summer to get married before heading back out. We want to tke out wedding insurance but some providers here decline us as we will no longer be in the UK. Can anyone recommend any insurer's in Australia who will cover us?

Thank you!

Hi

But if the wedding is taking place in the UK then I can't see what the problem is! Do you have to tell them that you're moving overseas? Can one of your rellies take out the insurance?

If not I just Googled this and came up with this:

http://www.ourweddinginsurance.com.au/

Plenty of people in Oz get married overseas but I'm not sure if they take out insurance unless it's part of an overseas wedding package i.e. get married in Fiji etc.

Anyway, see if they can help!

Cheers

How about John Lewis wedding insurance, it says you have to be a UK permanent resident OR citizen. So presuming you are a citizen, that does not exclude you.

Is it possible to get married in the time space of a holiday back? I thought you had to go and have banns read for like weeks and weeks beforehand.

No idea about insurance but we got married back in UK when we lived in Aus.

This was 9 years ago, but Mr P had to get special dispensation from the Archbis of Westminster and had to be in the country for 14 days as resident before we could get married in a church .
To get married in a registry office we had to be reident in the borough for 21 days
Supposedly this is to clamp down on sham marriages....
